Amy Poon is a
housewife turned Entrepreneur. She was featured in the
Female magazine in Jan 2003 for her willingness to learn new
skills to be a successful businesswoman. She then runs
home-based jewelry business, selling mainly pearls and
semi-precious stones through and is a successful distributor
in a local network marketing company.
Managing the
roles of a wife, mother of 3 growing-up daughters and an
entrepreneur has been challenging to Amy to where her she
places her emphasis.
To manage her
multiple-tasks, Amy started reading lots of self-development
books and came across Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
where she enrolled herself to attend the course in October
2002.
She found
herself being more patient and calmer when handling
'challenging' issues at work and most of all, it has
benefited the people closest to her, especially her teenage
daughter who is dyslexic. After each lesson, Amy would
return home, all excited and would share with her family
what she had learnt, and in her own words, she says...
"What surprised
me most is that my children are beginning to enjoy me more.
They say that I am less uptight, more tolerant of their
behavior, more fun to be with, tend to 'go with the flow'
and being 'present' with them.
This gave me a
sense of fulfillment and a sense of joy—the same joy that I
felt when I first held her in my arms 14 years ago! That
night itself was a lesson to me for I had forgotten the joy
of having her.
For her, the
outcome of the exercise was that she almost 'topped' her
class in that math test."
Amy's journey
continue and is constantly on the look out on how she can
reach newer and greater heights to improve the quality of
her own family and helping others to experience the same
too.
In the year
2005, she has been introduced to Neurofeedback - a
therapeutic modality direct training of brain function, by
which the brain learns to function more efficiently.
She started her
research by reading books related to this area herself and
is passionate to share those books with you. She's made it
easy and possible for parents who's keen to purchase the the
books in Singapore.
